GUNNERY SERGEANT BRIAN H. ZUIS. Cal. 30-06. S# 42502. Bbl 22". 1 of only 2,500 Model 720 rifles manufactured by Remington prior to the onset of World War II. The top of the barrel is stamped with Remington's 2 line address, with the left side of the being stamped "SPRINGFIELD./ 30 CAL. 1906". "MODEL-720/ 42502" stamped on the left side of the receiver, and with "Remington" across the right of the receiver. Left side of the buttstock bears a crossed cannons cartouche followed by an "FJA" inspectors stamp. Floorplate is engraved "Presented to/ GySgt Brian H. Zins/ 2005 NRA National Pistol Champion/ "One of One" ". Receiver and barrel exhibit a blued finish, with the floorplate and trigger guard exhibiting a blank anodized finish. 1 piece checkered wood buttstock, with a Remington checkered brown plastic buttplate. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory finishes, exhibiting mild surface oxidation on the bolt handle and knob, as well as on the trigger guard, just forward of the floorplate. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise very good overall.
