CORPS M-40A1 BOLT ACTION SNIPER RIFLE. Cal. 7.62mm NATO. S# RR28139H. Bbl. 25 1/8". No iron sights are fitted. Rifle is equipped with a top mounted Unertl 10X scope marked on the left side" USMC SNIPER 1046" and the Unertl logo. This well made rifle appears to be assembled to represent a Marine Corps M-40 A1 rifle and has many of the correct features, but has a later receiver which has a QR code. The barrel is proof marked on the left side over chamber with "RTE-P which stands for Rifle Team Equipment-Proof. The receiver has clip guides and is marked on the left side "Remington MODEL 700". The bolt which is Parkerized has "139H" on the handle. The unmarked fiberglass stock is painted in NATO camouflage. the triggerguard is the correct style fabricated from a late Model 70 Winchester model and has serial number on the inside of the floorplate. It is retained by Allen head screws. The stock is fitted with 1 1/4" swivels and a brown recoil pad. The pad marked Pachmayr has a basket weave surface.The scope which features a 1" steel tube has a Ballistic Drop Compensator for the 7.62 NATO 118LR cartridge and is fitted with a wire MilDot reticle. Steel one piece base . Rings have tiny spot welds to secure them to base. CONDITION: Stock has light wear and scattered handling marks throughout. Rifle and scope mount retains most of its dull matte finish with only very light wear. Scope has notable wear, scratches and handling marks. Optics appear slightly cloudy but serviceable.
