This lot features a RARE Colt New Line .30 Rim Fire Spur Trigger Revolver. The revolver features a 2 1/4" barrel, 5 shot cylinder, German silver front sight, spur trigger, rosewood grips, and acid etch barrel markings. Only 11,000 of these fine pocket Colts were manufactured between 1874-1876. For rarity comparison, over 55,000 were made in .22 caliber. This example with 2 ¼” barrel is in uncleaned condition with beautiful original rosewood grips and a clear acid etched panel on the left side of the barrel legibly showing “COLT NEW 30.” This etching was applied very lightly and did not wear well. Very few New Lines retain any etching at all. Colt had names for their pocket New Lines with the .30 caliber model being advertised as the “Colt Pony.” Has the sharp and clear Colt markings on the barrel top as well as particularly fine screw heads, correct German silver front sight and excellent mechanics. A popular back up revolver for lawmen, gamblers and outlaws as well as a favorite of finely dressed gentlemen and “ladies of the evening.” This revolver was made the year of the Battle of the Little Big Horn in 1876. This revolver mechanics are smooth and is in good functioning order. The bore shows strong rifling with some darkness. This is a antique firearm. NO FFL transfer or NICS background check required. The serial number is 10454
