Fitted with a front sight that doubles as a bayonet lug and an adjustable rear notch sight. Left side of the receiver is marked with the five line patent/address marking, with "E" on the breechblock and "K" on the hammer. Smooth straight grip stock with two barrel bands and "E" marked buttplate. The left side of the wrist is stamped with a "DWM inspector mark indicating that this rifle was part of a 3000 rifle Canadian contract circa 1866. (Note: Historically Canadian contract rifles are seen with a full stock fastened by three barrel bands to a 36 inch barrel in 50-60 rimfire caliber. Further research may produce interesting results in understanding the discrepancies between this rifle and the historically recorded Canadian contract rifle.)

The cartouche is clear and crisp. Mechanically fine.
