Prototype outside hammer Rolling Block pistol ( 50 called 1865 Army), serial #3. 14” overall, 8-7/8” round barrel, “in the white” finish, in .50 caliber with military-type plain wood grips. The pistol shows some light erosion and just beginning age to its original arsenal bright type finish and the grips are very good with some small losses at the edges. The pistol shows some testing and use and is numbered with a small “3” beneath the barrel. See Remington Rolling Block Pistols by Landskron page 42.
