Pre-war high grade Merkel 28ga over/under shotgun with finely engraved action, removable sideplates, single trigger, auto ejectors, 28” barrels, choked Cylinder and Cylinder. The gun shows 90-95% original blue that is evenly thinning and toning and a factory ventilated rib. The action shows its original French grey finish and is fine to near excellent. The trigger guard and lever show 80-90% blue. The select checkered walnut stocks are good to very good showing a small repair at the toe some slight wear to the checkering and a light refreshening. The right side of the frame shows a finger release for removing sideplates. The stock measures 14-5/8” to the end of the wood, 14-7/8” to the end of the hard-rubber pad. The action locks tight, the bores are excellent. A high grade Merkel in desirable gauge, almost never found in the prewar series. Serial #61901. From the Robert Petersen Collection. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
