Pre-war Colt Match Target .22 caliber semi-automatic target pistol, serial number MT33 with factory letter documenting shipment to Capt. Charles Askins, El Paso, Texas, June 24, 1938 with one gun in shipment. Asigned letter on National Rifle Association stationary from Capt. Charles Askins mentioning that he shot number MT33 in his early competitions along with another Match Target Woodsman which he sold to well-knownarms collector Rex Applegate. He states that he did not remember who he sold this gun to or when. The letter is dated 2 of December with no year, addressed from San Antonio and hand signed by Askins. This subject Woodsmanretains 50% to 70% original blue with some wear at the edges and losses at the muzzle and general use. The sights have been blackened to reduce glare and some of this painted solution has gotten onto the barrel.The grips show some even edge wear but are good and the markings are good.
