Pre-World War II Smith & Wesson Model of 1905 Double Action Revolver with Historic World War II Lend Lease Tag

Manufactured from 1906 to 1909. Fixed sights with standard barrel and frame markings, blue finish with casehardened checkered hammer and smooth trigger and fitted with diamond checkered pattern grips. A WWII lend lease hanging tag, which is numbered to the gun, is from the Mond Nickel Co., Clydach, Swansea and to the First National Bank, Boston, Massachusetts. On the reverse is penciled, "Officers of 'H' Company, 8th Battalion, Glamorgan Hom Guard, express their thanks and appreciation for your assistance in their hour of need." An absolutely genuine example of an eastern bank's patriotic gesture of assisting the British in World War II.

Excellent. The revolver retains 97% bright original high polish blue finish showing scattered minor handling marks. The grips are very fine with some small dings along the bottom edges and some blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
