Pre-War Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Custom Ivory Grips
Made in 1921. Fixed sights, with the two-line Hartford address on top of the barrel, "45 COLT" on the left, and the two-line, three patent date markings along with the un-circled Rampant Colt on the left side of the smokeless powder frame. The trigger guard is marked "3/ VP" on the left with the upside down "&" factory re-work mark on the right near bow. Numbered "28" on the rear of the cylinder, with "154" on the loading gate. Smooth two piece ivory grips.

Condition: Fine as factory reworked, with 40% of the factory blue finish, showing a gray patina on the ejector housing, brown and gray on the barrel, cylinder and gripstraps, bright edge wear and scattered spotting and handling marks, original blue strongest in the protected areas. The case colors on the frame are turning gray, with bright color in the lower area of the frontstrap, inside the loading cutout and on the hammer, where it is particularly vivid. Grips are very fine as later additions, with attractive grain and color. Mechanically very good.
