Manufactured in 1916. Blade front and flat top square notch rear sights with the two line two block 1897-1913 patent markings and address on the left side of the slide, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations and "COLT/ AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE.45" ahead of the ejector port on the right. "GOVERNMENT MODEL/ C34553" on the right side of the frame with the Colt "VP" triangle proof on the upper left front of the trigger guard bow and the letter "D" on the lower left side. Smooth trigger, short grip safety, checkered hammer, slide stop, thumb safety, standard fixed sights and lanyard loop on the heel. Unmarked two tone magazine with lanyard loop on the bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips with diamond pattern around the screws.

Condition: Very fine with 75% original blue finish remaining. The slide shows some wear on the muzzle end and high edges, thinning on the front top, with some minor pitting and a few minor scratches. The front strap is thinning to a smooth silver gray and the back strap has a smooth mottled gray patina. There is some minor spotting on the right side of the frame and slide and scratches on the right side from the slide stop. The grips are fine with minimal wear, a few minor dings and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
