This example of the ever popular pre-war Ace pistols was manufactured in 1936, and has period refurbished blued finish. The left side of the slide is marked with the elongated two line address/patent dates with the Rampant Colt logo behind the slide serrations, and the right side is marked with the distinctive "COLT" followed by "ACE" in a diamond followed by "22 LONG/RIFLE". The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number and the upper left front of the trigger guard is marked "X" over the "VP" triangle proof with "60" on the opposite. Features include original serrated blade front and adjustable rear sights, milled checkered trigger, checkered slide stop and thumb safety, checkered wide hammer and checkered arched main spring housing. The pistol is fitted with walnut large diamond grips. Complete with the original two tone magazine marked on the bottom of the base "COLT/ACE/22 L.R."

Condition: Fine as period refinished with 75% faded blue finish remaining showing some light scratches and edge wear, with the finish on the grip straps having turned an even blue/brown patina with some minor spotting on the left front of the slide, crisp original markings. The replacement Government Model grips are very good with some handling and pressure dents, with well defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.
