Pre-War 1937 S/42 Nazi Luger with Holster, Spare Magazine and Takedown Tool
Manufactured in 1937 this is a late production luger in the "y" block that has the all salt blued finish, one spare wooden magazine, take down tool and a 1939 dated holster. The top of the chamber area is correctly dated 1937 and the front toggle has the "S/42" markings. The right side of the barrel extension has the early "Eagle 63" Waffenamt proofs. The front of the frame, the left side of the barrel extension and the underside of the barrel has the full serial number (7643) and the various small parts all have the last two digits of the serial number "43" (except the magazine). It is marked with Geladen and Gesichert on the extractor and safety area respectively. It has the original checkered walnut grips with the left one being numbered "43" on the back with the other one unnumbered. The Luger is fitted with one early original WWII Mauser magazine that has and unmarked blued body with the original unnumbered aluminum base. The base is marked with only a single "Eagle 655" Waffenamt proof. It is complete with one spare WWI magazine with the nickel plated magazine body and the wooden base that is numbered "3555", an original 1939 dated Luger holster that is marked on the back "KWK/WaA107/1939" and unmarked take down tool. The Luger holster has an original WWII aluminum German Army Eagle from a visor cap fixed to the front of the flap.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 7643y
Condition: Very good with 60% of the faded, thin original blue finish showing wear on the edges and high spot overall with more thinning and browning on the grip straps, and the muzzle area. The exposed areas of the pistol overall have signs of some minor rust starting to form and with some TLC cleaning and oiling would improve it considerably. The grips are original to the pistol and show minor handling marks with a couple of light pressure dents on both side. Both sides have nice original checkering overall. The holster is also in very good condition overall with nice tight stitching, near excellent markings showing only minor scuffs and scraps. The Luger has all matching numbers except the two magazines. A straight honest attic find Luger rig.
