Available in this lot for bidding is a Astra 400 Model 1921 chambered in 9mm x 23 Largo or .38 ACP in some instances. The Astra 400 Model 1921 was issued as Spanish Armed Forces standard issue sidearm in August of 1921, when it replaced the Gampo-Giro Model 1913. This excellent example of a truly historic firearm features traits such as a black oxide (blue) finish, checkered walnut grips, and a unique round slide, as well as a european style magazine release. This firearm is marked on the right side frame with "SPAIN - 73246" as well as "IAC ALEX VA". The firearm is also marked on the right side slide with serial code "73246" and stamped on the barrel "9 M/M & 38 - 73246". The top of the slide is stamped with Astra's makers mark near the tip of the barrel, and stamped "Pistola De 9 M/M (38) - Modelo 1921 (400)" as well as "UNCETA Y COMPANIA - GUERNICA ESPANA". By looking up the Astra 400 serial number database, this firearm is believed to date between 1937 - 1938. All-in-all, this pistol is in good condition, especially for its age, it shows majority of the blueing finish. This firearm includes its import box, with more modern literature on the pistol, as well as the bore rod. This Curio Relic firearm still requires FFL transfer or NICS background check. The barrel length of the pistol measures to 6", overall measurements equal approximately to 8 7/8" long, and 5 3/8" tall.
