Pre-Columbian Mayan Pottery From Central America
For your consideration in this lot is a collection of Pre-Columbian pottery from Central America. Maya ceramics are ceramics produced in the Pre-Columbian Maya culture of Mesoamerica (300-950AD). The lot consists of one whole bowl, 6" across by 2" deep. This bowl has no decorations and is in fair condition, with a chip on the lip. Next is a (broken) bowl. This piece is decorated with a red wash coloring and a pattern in the center of the bowl. This tri-pod bowl has been broken and repaired and is mostly intact. The last bowl (also broken) is one large piece of approximately 1/2 the bowl, with two other pieces. This bowl was the most decorated of the three, with painted bands and symbols around the outside. Please see photographs for complete assessment of items.
