Our Assessment: This is a Pre-64 Winchester Model 1894 Carbine made sometime between 1943 and 1948 with a 20" round barrel chambered in .30-30 Win. The 30-30 Win. has likely taken more deer in America than any other cartridge except maybe .30-06 and the model 1894, or simply 94 as it is now known, is one of the most popular rifles ever chambered for the round. This example is in Fine-excellent condition with about 98% of its metal finish. This is an honest rifle that has seen 80 years of use yet still has a decent bore and strong mechanics. It would be perfect for throwing in the back window of your pick-up truck for use on coyotes and other varmints and it would also be a good deer rifle today. Being a pre-1964 example, it may also interest the Winchester collectors. Please see our photos and good luck!
