This is a nice example of a post-WWI Weimar era double date police luger pistol as made by the DWM factory. These lugers were produced using both left over WWI lugers that were reworked with factory replaced parts and others were produced using a mix of some WWI parts with some new DWM manufacture parts or sub-assemblies. The chamber area has the 1920 Reichswehr stamp over 1920 for the year of manufacture or assembly. The right side of the barrel extension has the small "AyA 4" proofs applied during this time frame with remnants of the Imperial eagle proofs on the top rear end of the barrel. The underside of the barrel still has the serial number and bore diameter stamped. The right side frame rail, right side barrel extension, underside of the barrel, and top of the breechblock also have the correct "Crown N" commercial proofs applied during this time frame. The left side of the pistol has the small sear safety on top of the side plate with the non-functional magazine safety. It is complete with the standard checkered walnut grips, and is fitted with a Weimar era type police magazine that has the nickel plated magazine body with the aluminum base that is stamped with the larger style numbers of "6220 over the capital letter "I" which we believe indicates it as the number "1" magazine.
