This is a very nice example of a post WWI German Luger that was reworked for the Weimar Police. These were standard issue from 1920 to approximately 1929. This series of luger has an all rust blued metal finish with straw colors on the various small parts with checkered walnut grips. The top of the chamber has the 1920 Reischwehr property stamp over 1918 for the year of manufacture with the standard "DWM" monogram on the front toggle assembly. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with three "crown/ gothic letter" proofs, with Imperial Eagle firing proof next to an early Simson factory eagle rework proof that is also located on the underside of the barrel. The left side has the correct partial police sear safety over the side plate. Visible numbers match on pistol. The front grip strap has had the WWI unit markings partially removed. It is complete with a nickel plated wood base magazine that is stamped on the base, "5124/m/+".
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue/straw colors
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 9984k
Condition: Very fine with 97% of the arsenal reblued finish with only minor edge and high spot wear overall. The various small parts retain traces of their straw colors. The grips are very fine with exception of a chip out of the lower left panel, nice distinct checkering on both sides, with just a couple of minor light pressure dents and dings in a few places. This pistol has all matching numbers except the magazine as noted above. Mechanically excellent. A very nice post WWI police 1920/1918 rework Luger pistol.
