Genez No. 9, Chambers St., New York” also the left side at front of frame stamped Brown manufacturing company Newbury Port, Mass, Ballard’s patent, November 5, 1861. The frame shows a wedge type pin when that drives out and allows the barrels to be unscrewed and changed with another barrel. The breech end of the barrel and the top of frame are both serial number 21736. The rifle is equipped with 2 extra interchangeable matching barrels. The number 1 barrel measures 28” in .38 rimfire caliber. The stock is deluxe quality Walnut with beautiful wavy grain that is fancy border checkered with a horn carved forend.
