The lot features a Plateau Indian beaded sheath and Wolf jaw trade knife from the 20th Century. The knife shows an older trade knife clip point bowie like blade which is secured to the handle rawhide wrappings, the handle consist of the two upper halves of a North American Wolf skull jaw pointing downards and wrapped with tanned leather hide. The handle shows the two prominent canine teeth at the pommel end with four each side (8 total) premolar and molar teeth running down the handle. The sheath shows a thick tanned hide outside with leather inside lining. The outside shows a blue dyed finish down the center, border and top beaded section in red or maroon pony trade beads and semi-transparent yellow Czechoslovakian bugle beads all in a classic Plateau Indian pattern, reminiscent of the Nez Perce. The outside edge has a hide sewn finish and the top has a braided hide drop holding a dew claw, wound glass padres trade beads, sand glass trade beads and a metal hawk bell. Both knife and sheath appear to be in good condition. The knife measures 12 1/8"L, sheath is 9.5" by 4.5", and together they are 13.25"L.
