Planet of the Apes (1968) Female Chimp Tunic Costume
The grand turning point in the all time classic "The Planet Of The Apes" (19680 is the moment when George Taylor (Charlton Heston), is running through the primate village, and is finally caught in a net and talks for the first time shouting one of Hollywood's most famous lines: ""Take your stinking paws off me you damn dirty ape!" In a reversed world he is the "runaway wild animal" being pursued by the bipedal authorities who are all primates, and causing the general "public" to panic. This is a screen used female chimp tunic, worn by the "mother's and women" of the village. It is seen worn by female shoppers, ironically, in a Farmer's Market that is selling among many goods, other tunics as the escaping Heston runs through the market. It is seen again when Heston runs into a museum and almost knocks over another tunic wearing chimp Mother and her child. In excellent condition (showing some signs of fading on the shoulders), the tunic is made of special green cloth and leather. It has the special "square" leather frontage (denoting a "commoner"), and the high leather collar in the back. It has fasteners to keep the leather front closed. Also includes a small "Fox Studios" tag. This is an extraordinarily rare “Planet of the Apes” collectable. Comes with a Letter of Provenience. This will ensure that it is a genuine prop issued by Premiere Props and authenticated by MPDNA.
