Featured in this lot is this Navajo nickel silver buckle collection circa 1970's and are attributed to Julius Caesar. There are three buckles in this collection. The first is the smallest that shows a nickel silver disk design with tooled decoration to the face of the buckle. The second is a square shaped nickel silver buckle that shows a stamped decoration to the tip of the buckle. The last buckle is the largest with a disk shell design that is constructed from nickel silver and shows a stamped and tooled decoration to the face of the buckle. The condition of this collection of buckles is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of these buckles range from 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" to 3" x 3". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery. Truly an outstanding example.
