This is an exceptional Plains Native American Indian gunstock spontoon war club in a very rare double blade configuration from the 19th century. The piece shows a very nice solid wood haft in a Revolutionary War gunstock style configuration showing solid brass early trade tacks, a carved contoured grip, carved end, and excellent file burned design throughout. The war club shows a very unique configuration showing two Revolutionary War (1775-1783) Colonial American Spontoon style notched blades. The piece has wonderful patina with rich coloring and well preserved museum quality condition. Provenance: From a large private Native American & Old West Americana collection in Saskatchewan, Canada. Truly a wonderfully saved historic Plains piece shows very good condition. Measures overall 28 1/8”L x 9.5”W x ¾” thick. Each blade shows a 3/5”L x 1.5”W dimension.
