Pirates Of The Caribbean Dead Man's Chest Life-Fire Muzzleloader Rifle
Pirates Of The Caribbean Dead Man's Chest Life-Fire Muzzleloader Rifle - The great antique muzzelloading rifles, flintlock pistols and blunderbusses of the era of the Pirates plays a great role in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise of films. As each film came out, more and more unique weaponry was shown, much of which actually existed in its day. Some of these pieces do come out for auction, but they are mostly "stunt" guns, or "un-operative" versions. That is what makes this wood and metal Thompson 36 Cal Muzzleloader so unique. Used in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" (2006), it is an actual firing rifle. It has a percussion cap rather than a flintlock, and pistol-style open sights with an U-notch rear sight that is adjustable for elevation. Otherwise it is an excellent replica. It has two triggers, a firing trigger and a back "set-trigger". The back shouldering mount is reinforced with brass. This gun was most likely used in action sequences, since it shows signs of production wear. That includes some cracks in the stock and forearm as well as some dinks and scratches. One of the small brass forearm plates is missing, and there is an one inch wood split at the end of the ramrod. It is in good condition, with the true feel and weight of the guns that did their battle for and against Capt. Sparrow and his mates! Because this is a black powder muzzleloader rifle there is no need for any kind of FFL license. Seller assumes all responsiblity for any attempt at live-fire. Please note that because of the size and weight there will be an extra shipping charge. (Approx. 44" long).
