Philadelphia style Eagle headed officer’s sword with fluted ebony grip and original silver mounted scabbard. The sword measures 34” in length with a 28 ¾” blade showing wide blood groove and early styling. The hilt is in very good condition showing a well-defined Eagle head pommel that is not rubbed out. The original scabbard shows normal leather aging with silver drag and hangers. The scabbard has shrunk slightly and there are some small losses of leather and flaking. Silver mounted Eagle heads with their original silver mounted scabbards are almost non-existent. Est.: $14,000-$28,000.
