Philadelphia Derringer, probably by Slaughter of Philadelphia, .42 caliber, 6-1/2” overall with 2-1/4” barrel. Shows 7-groove rifling, marked “Deringer” and “Philadelphia” on lock and breech “P” proof with no starburst on left side of breech. Plain German silver inlays other than triggerguard that is lightly engraved, and escutcheon on screw shows small protrusion, generally attributed to Slaughter and a closely made infringement on Henry Deringer’s popular style. Just slight differences to angel, mounts, engraving, but the closest of copies. The gun is in good to very good condition showing a grey patina, some even wear from carry, but generally good to very good overall. Est: $1,000- $2,000
