Percussion belt pistol signed “Nock London”, large bore, circa 1850’s-60’s in good original condition measuring approx. 11” overall with a 6” octagon barrel of approx. .65 caliber smoothbore, full stocked to the muzzle, measuring nearly 1-1/8” across the flats of the muzzle. The metal surfaces show a light grey to brown patina and just normal aging; the varnished wood stock is good to very good with just some minor cracks, wear to the checkering and approx. 70% varnish remaining. The trigger guard shows some pitting from moisture; the markings are good, the edges are good, the breech shows two silver bands. A wooden ramrod of a later date is included. Nock was a high quality London maker who was known for all types of high quality arms including volley guns and blunderbusses. Est.: $650-$1,300.
