Pennsylvania buck and ball “Kentucky style” full stock long arm with brass patch box and checkered wrist possibly by Wolfgang Haga of Berks County, Pennsylvania circa late 18th century. The gun measures 67” overall with 51” smoothbore barrelthat measures approximately .60 caliber. The stock is in good condition with fairly sharp and identifiable checkering at the wrist with some cleaning, small losses, normal aging and no evidence of major wood repairs. The lock is an old reconversion and the metal has been recolored and browned. The brass mounts have been cleaned and aged. The butt plate is wide and shows faceting indicating pre-1800 manufacture. A wood ramrod of the correct style and age showing two neat oldrepairs in brass is included. The trigger guard shows an old break and well done iron pinned period repair. A very attractive gun to hang over the fireplace with classic styling. William A. Gary collection consigned by his estate. Est.:$2500-$5000
