Parker 16ga CHE grade double-barrel side by side shotgun, built on “O” frame with 28” Acme steel barrels, splinter forend, English style straight stock, old leather covered English style pad, serial #198640. ParkerGun Collector’s Association letter confirms grade, gauge, lists the drop as “1-1/2” at comb, drop at heel 2-1/2”. The stock book records it as patterning 190 and 230 pellets of #8 shot at 40yds. The catalog price at$240. The gun is choked Cylinder (right) and Improved Modified (left). The barrels show 95-98% of an old reblued finish, which is aging and toning nicely. Edges and markings kept sharp, and is very professionallyaccomplished, possibly by the factory or other competent gunsmith. The frame shows 20-40% original case hardening drifting to silvery grey with good sharp original engraving. The stocks show a select grain and are nicely checkered and remain in good to very good condition with some minor scratches, normal aging, minor imperfections. The wood to metal fit is excellent.
