For your consideration is a Papago Indian hand woven round basket and lid, circa 1940's to 1950's. The Papago Tohono O'odham (People of the Desert) are located in Arizona and are known for their weaving skills. The piece shows a geometric pattern with nice tight weaving in very good well-preserved condition. The patterns on the basket show a tan and brown color with geometric designs, including a triangles and diamond shapes. The basket measures approximately 10 ½” in diameter x 8 ½” in height.
