Pair of tap action over and under flintlock pistols of continental origin in very good plus original condition circa early 19th century. The pair measure 10 ½” over all with 3 and nearly ½” barrels of approximately .41 caliber smoothborewith false right-click. The action has a lever which allows the firing of either one or two barrels like the tap on the water faucet hence the name tap action. The metal surfaces show their original bright or coin finish and just someslight staining and minor beginning aging with super sharp original engraving. The stocks show a silver wire trim with checkered backs. The stocks are very good plus with just one or two small losses around the pinholes and some minor normalaging. A very crisp and attractive pair that are normally only found in singles. Est.: $1750-$3500
