Pair of ornate and unusual cast metal and nickel plated needle fire single shot pistols with markings on top of frame L. Joalland & Cie Bte. S. G. O. G. This pair remain in very good condition showing 80% to 90% of theoriginal nickel plate showing some peeling and small losses with some small flaws in the casting. The pair show very ornate scrolls and dragons and are quite attractive. Besides the signature on the top of the frames theyare marked in a cartouche on the front of trigger guards. The actions are an ingenious type whereas the trigger guard releases and swings up and exposes the single shot breech which cocks on closing. They measure 10 ½”and approximately 11 mm needle fire. A true oddity of which we could not even find a reference in a book let alone a pair! Est.: $2,500-$5,000.
