Pair of ornate Miquelet style flintlock pistols, circa approx. 18th to early 19th century. Finely ornate brass and silver engraved mounts, select burl wood stocks in very good plus original condition. The pairmeasure approx. 9-1/8” overall, with 4-1/2” barrels full stocked to the muzzle. Approx. .45 caliber smooth bore. The brass mounts are all nicely engraved and formed with silver engraved accents and the breech of eachpistol are brass sheathed showing matching engraving. The pistols remains in very good original condition with an uncleaned dark brown patina on the metal surfaces, showing normal erosion and normal aging. The pairretain their original hammers, top jaws, and frizzens. The stocks are well made with nicely raised carving around the mounts. The stocks are very good plus with some minor dings, mars, scratches, a few small lossesand slight cracks, just normal aging. The brass tipped ramrods of this style are included. An exceptional pair of small miqueletes that are ornate and show quality. Est: $2,500 - $5,000
