Pair of large bore double-barrel Howdah style percussion pistols signed Nowotny in Wien (Vienna). The pair measure 15-1/4” overall, with 8-1/2” barrels of approx. .65 caliber smooth bore. The pistols are half-stockedwith nicely checkered light-colored wood, showing carved forends. The locks are engraved, the barrels show a damascene finish. The pair show an untouched brown patina finish with most off their originalDamascus pattern on the barrels, sharp engraving, and brown patina over case hardened locks and hammers. The wood is very good plus, the pistols are generally very good overall. Locks working, original stylebrass-tip ramrods included. Just normal aging and patina.
