Pair of full side lock double barrel S x S shotguns in 20 gauge, 3" magnum by William Evans Ltd. 67a St. James Street, London in their original English motoring case, serial #18586 & #18587 with gold numbers 1 & 2 onlevers. Both guns show 26" barrels and are in proof with modern nitro proof marks indicating 3.5 tons. Barrel #1 is choked about improved cyl right, extra full left. Gun #2 is choked to match. The barrelsmeasure .25 on left & .32 on right in thickness on #1 and .25 on left & .32 on right in thickness on #2. The stocks measure 15-1/8" to the end of the checkered wood butt and they are matching stocked. The cast at the heel is 2-1/4" on #1 and cast at toe is 1-1/2". #2 is cast identically. The pair show low rise smooth ribs and frames are extra fine scroll and game scene engraved (signed by Howe). The pair are in fine tonear excellent condition showing just slight firing and minor use. Approx 98-99% original blue and case hardening with excellent satin finish stocks with crisp checkering. The trigger guards show 99% plus original bright
