A) The top of the brown Damascus barrel is marked "TANNER IN HANNOVER." A floral scroll engraving is featured on the lock plate, hammer, bolster, trigger guard and barrel tang with the number "2456" stamped on the trigger guard. The pistol has an iron swivel ramrod and a hammer safety. The full length stock has checkering on the grip area, a single barrel wedge with German silver escutcheons and a German silver oval inlay engraved "E.v.T." positioned on the left side above the trigger. Included with the pistol is a large Dixon and Sons powder flask with a double faced basket weave and floral pattern.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 95% original brown Damascus finish with some gray patina. The remaining metal surfaces have a mottled gray patina. The stock is fine with a minor crack near the lock screw and a number of minor handling marks. Overall the checkering is crisp. Mechanically fine. The powder flask is fine with a broken spring and some minor handling marks with an overall attractive appearance.
