Pair of Saw handled Flintlock Dueling pistols signed “Clark, Holborn, London” circa about 1810-1830. The pair measure 18” overall with 12” medium to heavy weight octagon barrels of 54 cal smooth bore. The pair shows irontrigger guards with platinum blowout plugs in barrel’s and silver escutcheons and silver plaque in each butt engraved “G.J.” in script. The pair remains in good to very good condition showing striped finish onbarrels, some light to moderate pitting and erosion and some light cleaning. The locks show most of their case hardening and some just beginning surface rust. The stocks are good to very good with one stock showing well done repairs. The checkering is crisp, the actions work well and two horn tip ram rods of correct style are included. The trigger guards show nice quality engraving with pineapple finials. Just the type of pistolsfavored by duelists in America at the time of Andrew Jackson’s infamous encounters. Est.;$3,500-$7,000.
