Pair of George Goodwin Flintlock Pocket Pistols A) Goodwin London Flintlock Pistol
Active circa 1770-1820, George Goodwin was a gunsmith with shops in both London and Birmingham. Fixed blade and notch sights, with an engraved tang, "-LONDON-" on the top flat, and a set of 3 proof stamps on the upper left flat. Light engraving on the lock plate, with "G. GOODWIN/ & Co." below the flash pan and fitted with a frizzen spring roller and a half-cock safety. Smooth full length stock, with a horn tipped ramrod, a fine tiger stripe grain pattern, small silver inscription plate on the wrist and a rounded butt.

Condition: Fine, with half of the original brown Damascus finish with light pitting around the flash hole and bright edge wear. The lock has a dull gray patina, with a few dings. Fine stock, with pressure dents and minor chips.

Condition: Fine. The barrel shows a strong brown patina amid pitting and edge wear. The lock hardware has turned gray, with traces of original blue finish on the ramrod pipe and trigger guard. Stock is also fine, with mild pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
