Pair of French officer’s style pistols from Napoleonic era converted from flintlock to percussion and cased with accessories. This pair are very good quality but show no makers name just St. Etienne proofs. The pair measure 16” overallwith 9” barrels of approximately .52 caliber micro groove rifled. The pair are half stocked in fine quality burl walnut with beautifully checkered wrist and fine decorative carvings around the butt. The mounts are nicely engraved in bird andfloral designs. The barrels show a bright metal finish with a Damascus pattern. The locks and mounts show most of their original case hardening. The barrels show some minor pitting and aging but are at least very good plus. The stocks have been professionally refreshed and have a very fine burl wood grain. The pair are contained within their original to the percussion era green felt lined case with accessories. The flask is near mint and the mold is the correct size. Theexterior of the case is a plain oak. The case is in very good plus overall condition. The quality of the conversion to percussion is exceptional with beautifully chiseled dolphin hammers and matching engraving to the mountings indicating
