SNs: 515USM/USM515 Consecutive pair of Single Action Army revolvers chambered in .45 Colt, circa 1977. Revolvers are done in the following configuration, high polish nickel finish, 7.5" barrel, blade front sight, notched rear sight, fluted six-shot cylinder, ejector rod, checkered hammer spur, backstrap inscribed "L.L. Fowler 1254" and smooth two-piece walnut grip. Both are cases in fitted red velvet-lined oak presentation display cases with brass furniture and plaques that read "United States Marshal 1789/Colt Single Action, Cal. 45, Model 1873". Included a letter of presentation dated Sep. 24th, 1982 from L.L. Fowler to United States Marshal Clint Peoples. L.L. Fowler was a member of the U.S. Marshals Service and has served as Sheriff of Parker County, Texas for many years. Another letter dated June 3rd, 1983 on United States Marshal; stationary signed Clint T. Peoples acknowledges the pistols as part of his personal collection and transfers ownership to well known Dallas area businessman Donald Dismore. Also included are two polaroids of Marshal Peoples with this pair of Colts, a copy of the book "Captain Clint Peoples, Texas Ranger"(inscribed from Peoples to Dismore) and two badges worn by Peoples during his historic career. Clint Peoples law enforcement career spanned more than 50 years in Texas. From sheriff to ranger to U.S. Marshal. His career fills a large book and he is remembered as one of the top Texans of the mid to late 20th century. Revolvers show no evidence of firing. Finishes show only minor storage and handling wear.
