Pair of Colt Single Action Army revolvers with 7 ½” barrels,custom engraved by Ernie Lyttle, silver plated, ebony grips with Buffalo head applied. One pistol is serial numbered 176995 made about 1896-97 and showsa good quality scroll engraved pattern similar to 19th century New York style. The pistol is .45 long Colt caliber and is nicely restored with good markings and sharp edges showing a quality restoration. The action isgood the bore is bright and about 98% antiqued silver finish remains. The mate is serial number 296686 also in .45 long Colt caliber with silver plated finish matching New York style scroll engraving with antiqued silver plate which is toning nicely. This 2nd pistol also is restored very nicely and shows a good action and fine bore. In like condition. Both back straps are engraved “Be not afraid of any man”. A very attractivepair of first-generation single actions that would cost in excess of $10,000 to replicate at today’s prices. Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
