Pair of Colt #2 derringers, .41 caliber rimfire, nickel plated, British proofed, original checkered and varnish wood grips, serial #2551 and #4706. Contained within an original to the period velveteen linedBritish type case. Gun #2551 shows 80-90% original nickel which is peeling, particularly at the muzzle and shows some crazing. The small parts and screws show considerable blue and case hardening. Thegrips show 80-90% original varnish. The button releases are also original. The bore is very good, the edges are sharp, markings crisp, completely unpolished. The derringer shows very little use and for some reasonthis model is known to peel when plated. #4706 shows 80-90% toning original blue nickel with some slight bubbling, areas where the nickel is lost is going to patina with very good to near fine original varnishgrips, original case hardening on hammer, and blue on small parts.
