Pair of Cased Officers Pistols or dueling pistol by T. Manton of London circa about 1850. The pair are approx .60cal with 9"barrel, full stock, attached ramrod, 14 1/2" overall. The pistol are in very to near fine condition with most of there Englishor dueling pistol by T. Manton of London circa about 1850. The pair are approx .60cal with 9"barrel, full stock, attached ramrod, 14 1/2" overall. The pistol are in very to near fine condition with most of there English tobacco brown striped barrels, tracing of case hardening gone to gray on locks, patina finish on trigger guard and mounts. German silver butt caps with iron inserted cap boxes. The case is lined in purple velveteen in English Partition style and originalflask, mold, rods and small tools included. The case is good to very good condition other than slight damage were one pistol fired its cap and damaged the lining in the lid. The exterior of the case is brass bound deluxe mahogany. A very highquality set from the famous Manton Family considered the premier 19th century London gunsmiths. Just the type pistols a English officer would have carried to the colony's for his defense and could serve as duelers if he wasinsulted.
