Pair of American dueling/target pistols signed Robertson, approx. .52 caliber smoothbore, 8-5/8” heavy octagon barrels, 15-1/4” overall, unusual squared butts, with no butt caps, scroll triggerguards, back-action locks, adjustable set triggers, striped barrels, browned and case hardened finish. With original to the period partition style case. The barrels show 75-85% original brown with most of their original striping, some scattered light erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The locks and tangs show 30-50% case hardening drifting to silver with some color mixed in. The stocks are select walnut with good grain, show crisp checkering and stocks remain in good to very good condition with 75-85% varnish, some minor scratches, mars, normal aging. The case is lined in a green nappy felt or baize in English style. The interior of the case is very good condition with some minor fraying and fading, wear at contact points, but at least very good overall with original compartment covers, correct lacquered flask, combination mold/loader, rod screwdriver, nipple wrench, cap boxes, oil bottle, key, and small accessories.
