Rare Pair Winchester Lever Action Cheyenne Commemorative Rifles Model 94 & 9422 & Boxes

Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 94 is a lever-action rifle that was produced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company from 1894 to 2006. It was one of the most popular rifles of its time and is still highly sought after by collectors and hunters today. The Model 94 was designed by John Browning and was one of the first rifles to use smokeless powder, which made it more powerful and accurate than previous rifles. It was also one of the first rifles to be chambered in the .30-30 Winchester cartridge, which is still a popular hunting cartridge today.Winchester's Model 9422 was introduced in 1972. It was designed to capture the image of the traditional lever-actions with exposed hammer, straight grip, tube magazine and barrel bands. Unlike older Winchester lever actions it came grooved for scope mounting. It was offered in .22 Long Rifle and .22 WMR, and was priced at the high end of the .22 LR sporting rifle market. The 9422 action design was original and extremely reliable. The feed system handled the cartridge from the magazine to the breech face by its rim, and the slide cammed the rear of the breechblock up into the locking recess. A concealed polymer buffer above the breech gave a firm-feeling lockup and a very positive unlocking motion. This is a Rare matched pair of Winchester Lever Action Cheyenne Commemorative Rifles. These two rifles were both manufactured in 1977, with only 11,000 of the Model 94 being made and only 5000 of the model 9422 being produced. These commemorative lever action rifles were created to honor the Cheyenne Indian tribe and their contributions to American history. The Cheyenne are a Native American people who are part of the Algonquian language family. Historically, they were primarily located in the Great Plains of the United States, particularly in what is now Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas. each rifle has a gorgeous blue and gold finish with nicely engraved receivers and a Cheyenne commemorative coin embedded in each stock. These special edition rifles are in excellent, Near New condition, looking like they spent the majority of their lives inside their boxes. These are well preserved Special edition Carbines that will nicely round out a Winchester commemorative collection. Please see our photos, good luck and happy bidding!
