PARKER BH SHOTGUN WITH SUPERB DAMASCUS BARRELS
AND ORIGINAL MONTE CARLO STOCK. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 5/8". S# 113755. Bbl. 30" w/ very attractive, closely patterned damascus is marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDIAN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL" on flat matted slightly raised pigeon rib. The Parker Story indicates that 228 BH guns were made w/ damascus steel bbls. Bbl. flats & lumps are stamped w/ all correct markings including Frame Size "2", Grade "C" & "DD" for bbl. quality. Case hardened frame w/ all correct markings on water table features automatic safety & nickel plated dbl. triggers. Action is filed & engraved in typical "B" fashion w/ single beads around fences & dbl. dogs (pointers on left, setters on right) on sides surrounded by scroll. This gun is unusual in that the borders are of knot work design. Grade B guns normally have unique scenes on trigger plates; this gun depicts a fox on hill side, flushing a trio of turkeys. Broadly marbled European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14 1/4" over "London Guns" solid red pad & features unusual Monte Carlo comb of a style & shaping noted on other known Parker examples. Checkered side panels end in nicely carved fleur-de-lis. Fancy pattern grip checkering has semi-fleur-de-lis intrusions toward comb. Hard rubber grip cap has lg. inset gold oval plate on bottom. Matching splinter forend has filed steel tip & usual Deeley type release. Both forend iron & bbl. loop of this set are stamped "1". The Parker Gun Identification Ledger relates that this gun came w/ an extra set of bbls., (not included w/ this lot). MEASUREMENTS: BORE DIA.: Left .733. Right .733. BORE RESTRICTIONS: Left .027 Mod.
