Featured in this lot is a bronze sculpture called "Bronc Rider," from Wyoming artist, Owen D Mort Jr., circa 1973. The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction that shows a older cowboy riding a bucking horse with full rigging and holding the reins in his right hand. This bronze is mounted on a shield of hardwood. This bronze is an original that was contracted to be housed in The First National Bank and Trust Company of Wyoming and was contracted from Roman Bronze Co. to cast this bronze and was viewed on a custom stand. The condition of this bronze sculpture is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this bronze sculpture are 23 1/2" x 18 1/2" x 12". The collective weight of the sculpture is 50lb 8oz. Provenance: the Owen D. Mort, Jr. Collection. Owen David Mort was an American engineer who amassed an impressive collection throughout his worldwide travels. His collection has included art, artifacts and other historical items from which he has donated to museums at the University of Utah and the Snite Museum of Art at the University of Notre Dame. This bronze comes separately from the stand shown in the photos. This bronze comes complete with paperwork and records of the construction and a photo of Owen D. Mort Jr. constructing the first rendition of the bronze.*
