This is an excellent example of a very early 1938 Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol rig with the scarce "Eagle/K" Police proof. It is estimated that no more than 275 total were produced in 1938. The top of the chamber area is stamped "1938" for the year of manufacture with the large Mauser/Banner logo on the front toggle. The scarce early, eagle "K" Police stamp is located on the right side of the receiver, with the commercial "Crown/U" commercial proofmarks stamped on the left side of the receiver and the breechblock. The full serial number "7017v" is stamped on the front of the frame, with (7017) stamped on the left side of the barrel extension, and underside of the barrel with the last two digits of the serial number (17) stamped on the various small parts. The pistol has a salt blue finish and checkered walnut grips. This beautiful Police Luger rig is complete with two nickel matching Police magazines that are correctly marked on the aluminum bases, "1/7017/Eagle Police Proof" and "2/7017/Eagle Police proof" respectively. It is complete with beautiful brown leather holster that is marked on the back: "Kern Klager & Cie/1938/BERLIN/Police Eagle proofmark".
