This U.S. Model 1911A1 Semi-automatic pistol was manufactured by the Ithaca Gun Co., of Ithaca, New York and shipped to the San Antonio Arsenal on September 6, 1944. The pistol has a parkerized finish, blued barrel and checkered, brown plastic, stocks. The pistol is fitted with a WWII production, full blue, magazine. The stamped trigger has a knurled face. The slide stop and safety lock are grooved. The narrow trigger has a knurled spur and the main spring housing has eight ribs. The right side of the receiver is lightly stamped with the Ordnance escutcheon behind the grip. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/No 1871330" is roll-stamped in two lines behind the slide stop hole. "M 1911 A1 U.S.ARMY" is roll-stamped in front of the slide stop hole. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with the distinctive Ithaca inspection mark. The Ordnance final inspection mark "F.J.A." is stamped below the slide stop and a "P" proofmark is stamped below the magazine release. The top of the slide is stamped with a "P" proof mark between the rear sight and the ejection port. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped: ITHACA GEN CO.INC./ITHACA.N.Y." is two lines. The right side of the barrel lug is stamped "HS" (High Standard) and the left side of the lug is stamped with a "P" proofmark. The inside of the grips have strengthening ribs, mold numbers and the Keyes Fibre Co., five-pointed star.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 97% of the dark gray-green parkerized finish, Finish wear is limited to the edges of the slide and the top of the front and rear sight. The receiver feed ramp has been polished. The barrel has about 85% of the original blue finish and the bore is bright. The stocks are in excellent condition. This is an excellent example of a 1944 production Ithaca Model 1911A1 Semi-automatic pistol.
