Outstanding World War I U.S. Army Smith & Wesson Model 1917 Double Action Revolver

This is an excellent example of a S&W Model 1917 U.S. Army revolver. The barrel features the two line address/patent date marking on top, "S&W DA 45" on the left side and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the underside. The left side of the frame has a "GHS" inspection mark. The butt, which has a lanyard ring, is stamped "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917" and "No./29/988." The cylinder and barrel are numbered to the gun and the crane and frame having matching assembly numbers (3777). Blue finish with casehardened hammer and trigger and fitted with smooth walnut grips with the right panel numbered to the gun. The revolver comes with a leather U.S. flap holster stamped "G&K/1917/AG" and four half moon clips.

Excellent. The revolver retains 99% plus original blue finish showing some very scattered minor scratches and a faint cylinder drag line. The hammer and trigger retain most of the vivid original case colors. The grips are excellent with a few minor handling marks. The holster is excellent as issued.
