This is truly an all original very early commercial Walther PP pistol that is in like new almost pristine condition that is all complete with an original Walther box and accessories. Originally the Walther model PP pistols was introduced by Fritz Walther in 1929. The generally accepted serial number of regular production pistols started at 750,000, consequently with the serial number of 756,794 on this pistol indicating that it was probably produced in late 1929 or 1930. For this early of a Walther pistol the condition is just magnificent in that it appears to be in like new with probably only being test fired. It retains all of its original high polished blue finish. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner followed by "Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/ Walters Patent Cal. 7,65m/m" followed by "Mod PP" and it has the rare early "large hole" ring hammer with the 90 degree safety. The right side of the frame and barrel are marked with single "crown / N" proofs and the serial number "756794" is roll stamped in front of the grip panel, with the matching last three digits of the serial number scratched on the inside of the slide. This pistol is fitted with a rare set of early mottled-brown, checkered plastic special order factory two-piece grips with two blued magazines. The magazine in the pistol has the early black finger extension base plate that is correctly marked with the Walther Banner on the left side of the magazine body with the spare magazine marked the same way with just the standard blued flat base plate. This pistol is complete with an original unnumbered pre-war Walther brown wood-grain box that has the embossed markings on the lid that consist of the Walther Banner in the upper right hand corner, "PP" in the lower left hand corner with a picture of a Walther PP pistol in the center. The top of the lid has a small red and white label that simply reads "mit Signalstift" (with Signal-Pin). It is also complete with an original small Walther cleaning kit/tin box that contains a small yellow cleaning cloth, a horse-hair cleaning brush with an early aluminum oil bottle that has a small cork top. It also includes one steel early 1st style cleaning rod and rare takedown tool, three nickel plated dummy cartridges, and an original first series red/yellow Walther PP pistol manual. The front of the manual reads "Die Neuen/Walther/PP u. PPK Polizei-Pistolen". The manual itself has approximately 12 pages that shows the assembly and disassembly, exploded parts view etc. all in German. As one can see, the manual were meant to be be folded to fit one box. This was a Walther method on all versions of manual until about 1935. The owner relates that this piece was purchased from an estate in New England.
